After all of last week's announcements we're back to regularly scheduled news this week but we still have lots going on.

More Events From Blurb - MONTREAL

We have more events from Blurb this week as they make their way across the country with their Canadian Road Show.  This week we have dates for Montreal.  Blurb will be hosting a blogger meetup on October 1st at Hotel Nelligan from 6-9pm.  There’s no charge and it’s a great opportunity to come meet fellow bloggers and others who’ve been using Blurb and get a little inspired with what you can do with your recipes and photos with Blurb books. There’ll be light refreshments on hand and members of the Blurb team.  You can register on the event page.

And don’t forget, the Calgary Blurb event is this week on September 27th. Check here for more info and to RSVP.  We'll have more info on Toronto coming soon.

Mushrooms Go PINK

Mushrooms Go PINK campaign will be running again this October in support of the fight against Breast Cancer.  This year's campaign features recipes from FBC Members Sweet Sugar Bean, Suzie the Foodie and eat. live. travel. write.  Be sure to tune in later this week as we have more from Mushrooms Canada coming your way!

National Watermelon Board Recipe Winners

Several of our members were involved in the National Watermelon Board's Kid-tastic Blogger Challenge last month.  Congrats to The Tiffin Box for winning best original recipe with her Watermelon Mint Rosewater Popsicles  as well as to FBC members Running With the Devil(ed) Eggs, Food Mamma, Mmm is for Mommy for their Runner Up recipes.

Taste Montreal

Tourism Montreal is giving away a trip for two to Montreal during Restaurant Week (Nov 1 - 11).  The winner will have 3 days exploring Montreal's food scene including a group VIP dinner with their choice of one of five food bloggers.

Two of our members have been selected as one of the bloggers you can choose to dine with: Mijune from Follow Me Foodie and Mardi from eat. live. travel. write.

You must enter via Facebook (but you do not need to be on Facebook to enter) and select the blogger you'd love to share dinner with in Montreal!

Call Out for Cookbook Reviewers

Marie from Celebration Generation is looking for any members who are interested in doing cookbook reviews for a few books she has published and another on the way.  If you're interested in helping her out she'd love to hear from you.  For more information you can contact her directly.

New Members

It was a battle between BC and Ontario for new member supremacy this week that ended in a tie.  We had a new member from Quebec as well just to make it interesting ;-).  This time next week we hope to have met Member 700.  Wonder who it will be!?!

And a welcome to our newest Business Member (from Ontario - to give us that tie!)

As always, if you have events or news items to share, please don’t hesitate to let us know about them – we’d love to give them a shout out!

As always,

Melissa, Mardi and Ethan

Thanks for the shoutout guys… I was pretty thrilled to win the kid-tastic challenge, especially considering the quality of the other entries. Congratulations to the other winners, it was so much fun taking part.
