Monthly Winners with Janes and Arla

It’s July and that means… June winners!

First up we have free product vouchers from our Weekly News Sponsor,  Janes Family Foods, for one randomly drawn member.  Random.org brought up member 713 which is… 514Eats! Congrats guys.  Melissa will be in touch for your mailing details.

Next up we have $25 in gift certificates from our Featured Member Blog sponsor, Arla foods.  This goes out to one of June’s Featured Member Blogs and we had three Featured blogs last month and Random.org chose…#3 – Derek's Kitchen.  Congrats Derek – Melissa will be in touch shortly for your mailing info!

We’ll have more June winners the first week of August!

Food Bloggers of Canada Foodie Box

Mardi, Ethan and Melissa had the fun experience of curating the latest Foodie Pages box this month!  We got to choose our theme and some delicious local products and the great folks at Foodie Pages put them all together in our "Food Bloggers of Canada Breakfast Box".  You can check out all the goodies we picked and even purchase a box (it retails for $45).  What a great treat for somebody special (or yourself!).

1000 Cooks For the Cure

This July, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation( www.cbcf.org) is partnering with KitchenAid Canada to challenge anyone who enjoys cooking and entertaining to turn a summer gathering – whether it’s an office potluck or weekend BBQ – into a “party with a purpose.”

This initiative, called 1,000 Cooks for the Cure, is part of a North American program to enlist at least 1,000 cooks in Canada and the U.S. to host any type of get-together from July 19-28.  Participating cooks will simply ask their guests to make a donation to the CBCF in any amount to support the fight against breast cancer. Those interested in hosting a party are encouraged to visit CookfortheCure.com.

National BBQ Day

Don’t forget,  July 13th 2013 is National BBQ Day (www.nationalbbqday.ca), in support of local food and local farmers. Hundreds of grills across Canada will be fired up in support of Meal Exchange’s fourth annual National BBQ Day, a backyard celebration of local food. One of the first and only national events aimed at raising the profile of locally sourced foods, National BBQ Day encourages Canadians to host a BBQ in their own backyard with family and friends, using as much local food as possible. Participants can register their event on the National BBQ Day website and are urged to share their National BBQ Day experience through social media (#NationalBBQDay) to win prizes and raise awareness of local foods available and where they got them.  If you’re going to be grilling why not participate?

It’s always exciting to win – thank you! Since the conference, I’ve worked with several brands that align with my food philosophy, and have been lucky enough to win a couple of draws as a result. For those of us with small, but quality
