Around here, Monday is all about the news, so let's get to it.

The contest ends today, Monday, December 12th at 11:59 PST, so get your holiday mushroom recipes submitted today. All of you have a great mushroom recipe somewhere on your blogs, we're sure of it!

Another Canadian Cookbook Author

Last week it was Liz Nyland of Guilty Kitchen publishing her very first e-book cookbook: Guilty Kitchen’s Holiday Bites.

This week, we're proud to announce that another one of our members and FBC contributors Redawna Kalynchuk of Nutmeg Disrupted is now published! Everyday Delectable can be found right here and will soon be available on Amazon.

Holiday Gift Guide

You all must have been good boys and girls this year because your list for Santa was mighty impressive. Our Gift Guide will be posted on Wednesday and there is a little something for everyone. Congrats again to the winners of the Trudeau giveaway and thank you to Trudeau for offering up such great gifts!

Kraft Food For Families

We’re excited to share a special announcement about Kraft Food for Families in support of local food banks at www.kraftassists.ca where individuals can make a difference.

If you aren’t familiar, Kraft Food for Families is a unique program designed in partnership with Food Banks Canada (http://foodbankscanada.ca/) to enable communities across Canada to have improved access to food. Donations received through Kraft Food for Families will help food banks throughout the holiday season and beyond.

Starting December 2, every week for ten weeks, each name added online at www.kraftassists.ca will equal one vote for any of the 29 participating food banks. Every week, the food bank that receives the most names of support during each weekly voting period, will receive a $1000 donation from the Kraft Food for Families program. This much needed funding will go towards capacity resources needed to service the community.   Food banks may also use funds from the Kraft Foods for Families program to purchase food to meet immediate community needs.

Please remember that each week, the totals reset at zero and the tallies start from scratch – so Canadians can add their name daily during every weekly voting period!  A name can be added every day, until the end of the program on February 10.
