We missed the weekly news last week with the launch of our new website (and thank you to everyone who sent us notes and messages full of compliments AND to those of who helped us test out some membership directory bugs!).   We're still working on getting our directory up to speed but if you don't see your name, you can speed up the process by logging in and updating your profile!

Writing Opportunities at The Kitchn

Probably every single one of you is familiar with the Kitchn website.  And if you've always wanted to be a contributor, now is your chance.  They're hiring for freelance writers in a several food, drink and recipe development categories.  The main criteria are, you must be an accurate, thoughtful and confident writer with excellent photography skills and a good digital camera and photo editing software.  You can stop by the Kitchn for all the details and how to apply.  The deadline for applications is February 14th.

Treat Donations for Heart & Stroke Foundation Event

FBC Member Robyn MacDonald of Planet Byn (www.planetbyn.com) is looking for help with packaged treats for a fundraiser in support of Heart & Stroke Foundation called "Get Your Heart On". If you live in the Greater Toronto Area and are willing to donate two dozen treats (cookies, squares, etc.) packaged in clear cellophane bags for Thursday, February 27th, please contact her at planetbyn@gmail.com. I’m liking the new design — still finding my way around, but that’s making me more aware of some of the material that’s been there all along. Great job!

I’ve just updated my membership profile, but it’s still not displaying. I’m guessing it will show up in the next little while, but thought I’d let you know in case you’re still hunting down any bugs.
