Every week we pull together some great Canadian recipes from Canadian food bloggers around the web featuring one main ingredient or dish. This week, we're featuring cupcake recipes!
Cupcakes are fun. Honestly... there is just something about a little tiny cake you can hold in your hands that's topped with some fluffy frosting and, of course, sprinkles. It's really really hard to look at a cupcake and not have it brighten your day at least a little bit - even if sweets aren't your jam.
Plus, as we have stated many times before, sprinkles increase the happiness factor by 672.4% - it's been scientifically proven (no it hasn't - we made that up but we're pretty sure if somebody studied this they'd find it's true!).
Now if you're like me, frosting cupcakes is a not your zone of excellence. Which is why we had Marian from Sweetopia create this excellent little mini tutorial for you on how to frost a cupcake with a classic swirl.
And as huge doggie lovers here at FBC, we'd also like to remind you that February 25th is National Cupcake Day in Canada, in aid of the Ontario SPCA. Why not make a batch of cupcakes to take to work and share them with colleagues in exchange for a donation. If you're not in Ontario, consider donating to your local SPCA chapter or your local animal shelter! This is not sponsored, we just love our dogs. All the dogs. (They're all good dogs, Brett.)
Now if these 20 plus cupcake recipes aren't enough for you to get started, we've got even more cupcake recipes to brighten your day:
