Is it time for your blog to Go for Gochujang?

What is it that makes us seek out hot and spicy foods?  A quest for adventure?  An infatuation with pain?  Theories abound. What’s unquestionable is that throughout my career as a chef, food writer and food product developer, there has always been a hot sauce of the moment.

As the chart I included in this episode of the Food Trends TV Flavour Forecast shows, the trend evolves over a course of years as different cuisines come into the forefront and then spread their flavours into new twists on our own domestic favourites. That’s good news for bloggers looking to keep their content fresh and accessible since it means one can usually go back to a favourite recipe and create a new version using the latest on trend ethnic ingredients.

So, if you find yourself pressed for time this autumn, why not pull out those sriracha and chipotle recipes and see how you can refresh them using Korea’s favourite fermented hot sauce Gochujang?
