When Elaina from Flavour, Food and Wine joined FBC, we were unanimous in our admiration for her stunning looking blog. For a start, it looks different from most blogs - it draws you in with the beautiful photography, then you stay for the stories. Hailing from Winnipeg, Elaina is a designer by trade and a photographer by passion. She spent a couple of years in the UK, working as a lighting designer, now she's back in Canada, working as a wine cellar consultant and photographing food and wine.
Why "Flavour"? Well, in Elaina's own words, "not only does it mean “the blend of taste and smell sensations evoked by a substance in the mouth” [Websters] but also “the general atmosphere of a place or situation and the effect that it has on people” [free dictionary]. " A perfect name for a food and wine photography blog, right????
This food and wine lifestyle blog is a place where you can share Elaina's adventures in food styling as well as photography. It's an elegant place to hang out - so pull up a (wine) bar stool, pour yourself a glass of wine and prepare to get deliciously lost for a little while!
I mean, who wouldn't go crazy for these Cherry Lime WINE Chocolate Cookies? - her contribution to the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap?
Or what about the first in her Food Art Photograph series - this black & white cross-section cut of a head of purple cabbage. So beautiful!
As part of her job as a wine cellar consultant (hey Elaina, if you are even in Toronto, we'd love for you to come by and check out our newly built cellar!), she began the Wines of the Month series - inspired by her collection of iPhone photos of the wines she is tasting each month (that job sounds like such a hardship...)
