FBC2014 Venue Announcement

Last month, we told you that FBC2014 was a reality! We gave you a province (British Columbia), city (Vancouver) and dates (October 17-19, 2014). But the question was where would it be held? Well, today that question can be answered. We're excited to be announce that the 2nd Food Bloggers of Canada conference will be held at the Four Seasons Vancouver Hotel!

The Venue

The Four Seasons Vancouver Hotel is beautiful and located right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Not only that, it's a quick 30 minute train ride directly from the airport to within walking distance of the hotel!

The Food

We will be working closely with Ned Bell, the Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Vancouver Hotel and YEW Restaurant + Bar. Chef Bell is a strong believer in Farm to Table and a champion of the Ocean Wise program. The menu is not set yet, but expect the food to reflect Chef Bell's talents and all the incredible offerings British Columbia has at its fingertips!

Just like last year, we will provide options for food allergies. Ned and his team are committed to providing an amazing food experience for everyone!

Tickets

Tickets will go on-sale around the end of March or early April. Last year's conference was a sold-out event with a waiting list, so we'll be expanding the number of tickets available from 85 to 120! Just like in 2013, the standard double occupancy (shared room with two comfy beds) ticket will include two (2) nights accommodations, the conference, all meals, snacks and of course the swag bag! There will also be tickets for single occupancy attendees, conference-only attendees (no accommodations), sponsored bloggers and industry professionals.

We will be announcing the on-sale ticket date in the coming weeks so you'll be able to be ready to jump online when they're available!

Price

Let's get down to the important stuff, right? Last year, an FBC2013 double occupancy conference pass was $699. Our priority is to keep that ticket price as close as possible and we're working hard to make that happen! If you were worried that downtown Vancouver at the Four Seasons would drive up the cost, don't you worry about a thing! This conference is for you and we want to make it as reasonable as possible for anyone to attend.

Speakers

We have a few phenomenal speakers already lined up and will be announcing them in the coming weeks. If you have ideas of who would make for a great speaker or want to nominate someone, we're certainly open to suggestions. Email us at info@foodbloggersofcanada.com

Pre-Conference

Speaking of speakers, we are also working behind the scenes and looking at offering a couple of small pre-conference sessions in the afternoon on Thursday, October 16 and the morning of Friday, October 17th. We know many of you coming from other provinces may not be able to make it and for that we're sorry. However, those that are local to Vancouver or from out of town who can leave early, you're in for a treat!

Sponsors

Last but not least, the sponsors. Sponsors are the reason conferences are able to exist. Without them, we'd all have to take out a loan to organize or attend a conference! We will be announcing sponsors over the coming months and we can't wait to partner up with those from FBC2013 and new ones! We will provide for ample time and opportunity to connect up and engage prior to and during the conference weekend.

For more information on being a sponsor of FBC2014, please email ethan@foodbloggersofcanada.com.

Final Words

Stay tuned for lots more information in the coming weeks and months. Can't wait to see familiar and new faces in October!
