This is the fourth of a five part series for Star of the Show from Canadian Lentils. Star of the Show is a contest organized by Canadian Lentils in partnership with Chef Michael Smith.
Have you ever dreamed of having the lights shine down on you, the director yelling "Action" and being the star of your very own cooking show? Well, if you said "yes," you are definitely not alone. Canadian Lentils decided to give five Canadian food bloggers the chance to live out their dream in beautiful Prince Edward Island in Chef Michael Smith's Test Kitchen! This was truly the chance of a lifetime. Imagine cooking in a professional test kitchen surrounded by a film crew waiting to bring your recipe to life all while working directly with a 9-time cookbook author and host of multiple cooking shows.

Last month, Chef Smith combed through over 50 video submissions from aspiring hosts sharing their love of lentils, their favourite lentil dish and why they'd make for a great Star of the Show. After an exhaustive selection process, Chef Smith selected the five winners and this week those five travelled from all over Canada to PEI to become the Star of the Show!

Koko Brill wants to Nourish Your Gut and she does that for her readers over at the blog Koko's Kitchen. Growing up vegetarian in a meat-loving family, she often had to create her own meals so she has years of experience incorporating lentils into her daily routine. Lentils provided an inexpensive way to get a ton of protein and fibre while making recipes that also created lots of leftovers and that continues on today.

Nowadays, Koko is the owner of a Vancouver start-up cold-pressed juice company called Koko's Kitchen. So, when it comes to taking a risk and going for it, applying for the Star of the Show seemed like the perfect opportunity. And sure enough, her video submission for Vegetarian Lentil Shepherd's Pie had her flying across the country to Prince Edward Island!

You'll have to wait until June when the Star of the Show videos are released but we can say that Koko was a natural in front of the camera! She was a sponge all day on set, soaking up every piece of advice from Chef Smith and the production crew. And the Shepherd's Pie tasted as good as it looked. The smells on set today had everyone excited for it to come out of the oven and reaching for the nearest fork even when it was piping hot.

And as you can see from the smiles, a great time was had by all today!
