As we're getting ready for another exciting FBC Conference, we have a fantastic opportunity to get creative and bask in the FBC2014 spotlight at the Four Seasons Vancouver Hotel.
We want you to Blend & Extend your favourite appetizer recipe for the chance to win an "Appetizer Spotlight" at the Blend & Extend table at the FBC conference in October. That's right, combine finely chopped mushrooms and ground beef to create a flavourful and unique appetizer. The Four Seasons will take your recipe and prepare it for everyone to try!
If you haven't heard, Blend & Extend is a great new concept from Mushrooms Canada and Ontario Beef. It involves blending finely chopped mushrooms with ground beef in classic dishes. Blending mushrooms and beef adds another serving of vegetables to your plate, adds volume to meals, and helps extend portions. It's that easy.
You have from July 4th until August 31st, to create an original appetizer recipe using the Blend & Extend concept. We'll be judging based on ease of preparation, use of accessible ingredients*, flavours, photography, etc.
The winning recipe, announced Friday September 5th, will be awarded the coveted "Appetizer Spotlight" at the Blend & Extend Table during the Food Bloggers of Canada conference kick-0ff cocktail reception.
All participants will be listed on the Mushrooms.ca blog, and will have their recipe added to the Mushrooms Canada Recipe Library, the Make it Ontario Beef Recipe Library and BlendAndExtend.ca for all to see (and drool over) with full credit and links back to their blog, of course!
Please submit recipe, bio, and photos to:
shannon@mushrooms.ca and LeaAnne@ontariobeef.com
