Every now and then something comes along and it's shocking that no one had already come up with this idea! Alice Eats: The Wonderland Cookbook falls into this category. That's right, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (or Alice in Wonderland) is now in illustrated cookbook form!
Cakes labelled “Eat Me”, tea-time treats from a Mad Hatter’s party, and a plate of tarts stolen from a queen have all been brought to life by authors Pierre A. Lamielle and Julie Van Rosendaal. Their new book, Alice Eats, includes the full text of the original Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, as well as recipes, photographs and new, full-colour illustrations that are as quirky as the story itself.
This book is perfectly suited for a child who just likes to look at pretty pictures, anyone who loves to cook and everyone else who just wants to reminiscence from their childhood. It's really a perfect gift for anyone and just in time for the holidays!
Alice Eats will delight, entertain, and inspire. The assortment of inventive recipes in this book, all inspired by characters and events from the original story, include such imaginative and enticing dishes as:

The authors don't need much of an introduction, but here it is along with their recent appearance on Breakfast Television in Vancouver.
Pierre A. Lamielle is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and of the graphic design and illustration program at Capilano College. A unique blend of foodie and artist, chef and illustrator, Pierre won a World Gourmand Award for Best Illustrations in a Food Book for his first cookbook, Kitchen Scraps.
Julie Van Rosendaal is the food correspondent for the Calgary Eyeopener on CBC Radio One, co-host of Viva TV’s It’s Just Food, the food editor of Parents Canada magazine, an award-winning food blogger, and a bestselling author.
