Busy Bee contest photoEarlier this month, the Manitoba Canola Growers launched a national contest called My Be Well Story. The contest gives all entrants a chance at winning a video prize package valued at over $5000.

“We all have dreams, we all have passion and we all have a story to tell” says Ellen Pruden, Education and Promotion Manager with the MCGA. “This contest highlights Manitoba innovators, influencers and dreamers who are shaping our world and inspiring change” she continues.  “The Be Well team strives to inspire and motivate its community. This contest allows us to inspire those beyond our local reach.”

Three Manitobans were chosen to share their stories by video to kick off the contest.

The short film documenting farmer Doug Chorney’s story brought a room of 100 guests to silence at the launch. The Selkirk area farmer has a long family history in agriculture. His family’s farming operation goes back to 1903. With over 100 years of continual operation, their main focus is sustainability. Watch his Be Well Story here.

Getty Stewart, founder of Fruit Share Manitoba and Chef MJ Feeke, owner and chef of Benjamin’s Gourmet, debuted their Be Well Story short films too. Watch Getty and Chef MJ Feeke’s stories of passion here.

It could be someone making a difference in their community, a business that’s doing it for the right reasons, or someone that has made a positive change in their life that has inspired others to do the same. It could be you?!?
